Hyundai will electrify the Melbourne EV Show with the introduction of two highly anticipated all-electric models: the all-new KONA Electric SUV and the IONIQ 5 N hot hatch. Joining both will be the IONIQ 5 and the all-new IONIQ 6 with its unique sleek design.

The new Hyundai KONA Electric

An important new model for our customers at the event will be the new KONA Electric. Dressed in the same design as the new-generation KONA, the Electric version has unique details and elements that make it stand out.

There is a choice of electric powertrains we can offer customers, using a 64.8kWh battery that can provide up to 500km of EV driving range. The power output comes in a choice of 99kW or 150kW, providing flexible options depending on your needs.

Part of the driving experience is Hyundai’s i-PEDAL driving mode for one-pedal driving, Smart Regenerative Braking System, battery pre-conditioning for optimal performance in all weather conditions, a heat pump for energy-efficient heating and cooling, and a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) outlet for powering external devices.

Beyond the efficient EV drivetrain is other advanced technology, including a head-up display, OTA (Over-The-Air) software updates for ongoing improvements, and Hyundai’s SmartSenseTM driver assistance system to ensure that the KONA Electric is both cutting-edge and user-friendly.

The electric SUV will continue to be offered as a mild hybrid and a full hybrid, alongside a pure-electric version. With these popular models already on sale, the team at Frankston Hyundai can show you around the next-generation model already.

Hyundai’s latest model boasts significant improvements in cabin space, with the bench-style rear seat offering ample head and knee room, surpassing the previous version. Notably, the boot capacity has also seen a substantial boost, increasing from the old model to an impressive 466 litres. Additionally, a practical waterproof storage box under the bonnet has been introduced, perfect for stowing cables and enhancing overall convenience.

With its enhanced dimensions, upgraded cabin materials, and cutting-edge powertrains, the Kona feels like an even more upscale model in this latest generation. Nevertheless, it still retains its position as Hyundai’s most budget-friendly electric vehicle option.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 N

The IONIQ 5 N is Hyundai N’s first performance EV, and attendees will have the chance to get up close with the model at the Melbourne event.

Drawing inspiration from motorsport, this model offers sharp handling and delivers up a huge 478kW of power from Hyundai’s unique N Grin Boost feature. It also boasts industry-leading thermal battery management for consistent performance, regenerative braking for increased efficiency, and unique features like N e-shift and N Active Sound + to provide a sportscar-like driving experience. This will be a car that driving enthusiasts will love to see up close.

The Melbourne EV Show is set to be an awesome event for EV lovers and also for the EV curious. If you’d like to get a personal one-on-one look at Hyundai’s next-generation models, contact our team at Frankston Hyundai.
