Hydrogen fuel tech and display screen that can be rolled up are just some of the new tech ideas Hyundai is revealing at CES 2024 – and some of this tech will make its way into the cars we sell here at Frankston Hyundai!

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 has become the stage for technology innovations across various industries, including Hyundai’s automotive and tech businesses. Having opened its stage at the show, Hyundai live-streamed the event and revealed some of its future concepts.

Hyundai’s Vision for a Hydrogen-Powered Future

One of the key highlights of Hyundai’s presentation at CES 2024 is its vision for a hydrogen-powered energy ecosystem. Hyundai is backing its commitment to clean energy and central to this vision is the introduction of a modular hydrogen platform, which will be a game-changing innovation designed to create a clean hydrogen value chain. Hyundai plans to take on an impressive 3 million tonnes of hydrogen annually by 2035.

Hyundai has already created hydrogen vehicles and has a hydrogen refuelling station at its Australian headquarters.

Beyond traditional vehicles, including trucks, buses, and cars, Hyundai envisions a diverse range of applications, such as hydrogen-powered trams, special equipment, vessels, power generators, and advanced air mobility.

Part of this is the development of a Megawatt-scale PEM electrolyzer for green hydrogen production. This technology is set to transform the hydrogen production landscape, offering a more sustainable and efficient method. Hyundai is also actively involved in resource circulation hydrogen production, with a focus on waste-to-hydrogen (W2H) and plastic-to-hydrogen (P2H) technologies.
